I'm actually starting to feel uncomfortable with these chapters and honestly don't know how the author is even remotely comfortable drawing blood in a freaking rape scene... like, yes, we kinda know what rape entails. We don't need you to add the blood and to almost glorify rape as a way to punish someone. I used to love Pearl Boy at the beginning... not sure what's happening to this author. :(
Exactly. Unfortunately so many authors portray rape scenes in an oversexualized, romanticized, or disturbing way. I sincerely wish we could see more of the human and psychological side of the victims, rather than the explicit act. It really doesn’t need to be so graphic.
