In the original series, it is shown that Byul's grandma leaves his mom when he was just a kid to remarry someone rich but she suddenly reappeared in Hyesung's life when he was with Dojin aka Byul's dad.
For that Hyesung had severed all ties with his mom during that time. That's why it's something that would break his trust over Byul if he ever got to know.
Hye sung's mother left him with his abusive father who almost prostituted him like he did his mother. Like he has PTSD and trust issues because of this. Byul talking to his grandma who left him to start her own happy family is gonna break Hye Sung's heart.

Now I see where the MC gets it. I’ve been thinking he’s spineless for a while like of course this is a toxic relationship, but I also think it’s not toxic. I don’t know this book is confusing me. I’m rooting for them. Is all I know. But now I know I’m getting that vibe from him. His entire family is dumbasses. His mom is weak as hell and being raised in this kind of way you’re either gonna become an older brother like him or you’re gonna become like MC. Honestly, he needs to call his boyfriend up and his boyfriend needs to beat the shit out of his brother. Both of them should lie to the mother and say that the brother now has a job. Meanwhile, the brother is working his fucking ass off to make sure that the MC’s boyfriend never beats his ass again. And the MC lives happily ever after with this control freak of a boyfriend. The end.

Then he gets sexually assaulted in an attempt to get this crazy motherfucker away from him and you stay with him after that. That doesn’t make sense. And then the constant rape afterwards, and the part where it’s considered consensual are disgusting. This would be the last chapter I ever read because this chapter alone was way too much. He raped him viciously. Peter literally went to go get him a fucking gift for his birthday and instead of hearing the dude out you raped him viciously tore him apart until he bled, and then tried to act sweet afterwards. And the fact that Peter is falling for this shit. Who gives a fuck if he threw up. Who gives a fuck if he’s crying. This man just raped you a lot. Now you’re trying to fuck him? What kind of shit is this? I’d understand this from like somebody who has Sherlock syndrome from like a psychological yowie, this doesn’t apply? This is fucking stupid and there is no need for the rape. If you took the rape out of it this would’ve been a great manga a little weird yes a bit controlling, but who doesn’t love a good controlling. And even if it’s outside the lines and outside of what a normal relationship should be a lot mangas us are like that so it’s OK. But this isn’t that. This was unnecessary.

But I just want to give you a bit insight. This Manhwa is actually from a novel, total 6 books and we are still on the first book. Yes this story isn't about a normal relationship, but it is worth reading and to me it is well written. Very refreshing and interesting I can say, yet deep. We need to be on WooYeon's shoes to understand the situation.
The first time I tried to read the Manhwa (I was hooked up by the art), I was like "wtf did I just read?" And I dropped it. Then I came across the novel where I didn't know if it's the same story (I'm not lying trust me) and I like it. Not the best novel out there but it really got me. Ig when people say don't hate someone/something that much because you might like them someday, is true

It’s not even that. I’ve read a bunch of love-hate relationships. I’ve read some toxic relationship ones too. But what I can’t stand is when they unnecessarily use rape. He bled. There is no excuse. There is no love. It’s just not right you can do everything in there without the rape. Chinese man was doing it all the time it can get repetitive. But they do it all the time toxic relationship, where the main character ends up, forgiving the abusive/toxic ex, or lover, or boss. But this rape was just unnecessary and it happened more than once. If in the novel they don’t rape him. Then I’d rather read the novel because this I can’t read another chapter, knowing that it’ll end with him, falling in love with him again, and ignoring the trauma he suffered because of him.
Ahhh yess I agree with you on this, it would have been better if this doesn't contain rape. But maybe if you consider to read it again, the story is more than just this, especially the novel
I can't deny about that bled part, but with that happening, WooYeon feels guilty for the rest of his life eventho he seems like God's favorite without any redemption things to happen..but deep down he suffers with his own thoughts for the rest of his life. So the story is written that way, it isn't just for us to see or a filler story, but more to the plot itself. This event is crucial for the novel, it affects more later. Not saying what Lee WooYeon did isn't wrong though, but bro basically don't understand human emotion so it's kinda different when it's done by people with "normal" mental state (I'm not normalizing this behavior in so many level though, it is very wrong no matter what mental state they are in).
But yes, I wish the rape thing didn't happen but on the other hand, I couldn't imagine if Lee WooYeon lives his life cheerfully without feeling guilty because in the story, everything is on his favor. Sad to say lmao it has to be this way

I read them with my friend, she has the books because she lives in Korea so it's easy for her to access it. Yesssss, please read it until you reach the ending of the sixth book. It is just a normal scene like any other story, but it's WY after all. It's simple yet deep and comforting... And if I can be honest, I need more drama hahhaa but that final scene is such a good way to end the book, like we can feel it's ending there.
Finished it. WORTH IT! I LOVE THEM TO BITS! I can't believe how much i enjoyed the journey! what a rollercoaster! gosh, everyone should read it!! The ending was amazing. I'm also for some drama, but honestly they've been through so much that this was a perfect ending. AND the extras with Philip and Peter hahaha LOVED THAT!

The deeper you get into this book, the more and more the character slowly goes from looking like his original design to like the guy from Solo leveling like a bootleg version of him instead of like a blue aura or a purple aura they use a green aura. Even his weapon, kind of changes at one point his gear starts looking like the guy from Solo leveling. It’s hilarious to see people just kinda almost basically copy it. The plot is getting somewhat skewed a little bit too. I mean he was leveling up so that he could save his sister and each time he levels up. It’s like every time he wants to save his sister gets further and further away from him, then he’s supposed to level up within a year so that he can be the beast man king doesn’t that mean he’s gonna have to live in the beast man land
Because earlier in the book, it said that he couldn’t stay in the land for more than three days after he attempted to stay for more than three days. Aren’t they gonna wonder where the fuck he’s going out all the time or I guess because the timeframe is paused, it won’t matter. But the logic in it is kind of being a little suede now. Also.!!!!! he’s a high schooler.!!!! like literally I don’t think he even graduated yet and we’re the we’re still at the point where he looks like a fully grown man but he’s supposedly what 17 1819 like what the fuck he’s around the same age as his sister they go to school together how the fuck does she look like a regular high schooler but now he looks like a grown man and it wasn’t like a slow progression either it was a fast as fuck progression and at least it’d be different. It fits like oh he awakened so now his physical appearance has changed no, they make it clear that he awakened and his physical appearance didn’t change. It’s more like now that he upgraded. It started changing and it just became permanent like the fuck he grew a bunch of inches and no one cares about that. No one‘s asking why he looks like a grown ass man. This dude just did a whole bunch of shit that with the biologic in their world cleared dungeons within 45 minutes and within a couple seconds and nobody knows his name there’s no media around what
