Honestly, its just a story why the criticism it makes no sense. Personally I like it as is. My gut just told me it was an odd match between Chika and Hotaka. So I am happy. Also there are plenty of other mangas that have similar storyline. or in some way similar to what is happening here.
The thing is that it wasnt the usual seme-uke pairing, that's why I liked it... But then it became cliché...
