She's not actually evil. She is just very concerned about how other people perceive them as the daughter of the clan and her daughter as technically the eldest and heir. She is kinda tsundere because she can't Express her thoughts well and try to beat around the bush too much. She was concerned about how others will think that her niece/nephew looks disheveled while her daughter is wearing expensive clothes (her in-law are really rich merchant fam despite his husband a son-in-law of danmok)

I hate to say this, and this is just speculations of mines, but it was hinted that he is, and apparently if you re-read the story after using his power to help uke's grandfather to wake up and made the cancer go away, he became partially blind/couldn't see well for a few days, thats why he kept sleeping alot. Another thing is that after getting a heir he will banish because only one god can rule over the mountain at a time?. Thats why his plan is to get the heir and take them to be raise by him at the mountains before he dies. At least thats what i gather so far from reading this.
However; there's no angst tags on this manhwa so maybe this won't have a sad or bad ending. And things might be just a misunderstanding from a point of view?. Like, maybe by season two it could be explained that all the symptoms that seme is going through is due to him being far away from the mountains and living in the city is making him weak?. Something like that, to be honest; I'd rather that be the case than seme dying from old age.
