Mark seems so sweet and his child seems so as well. I’m bothered by the fact that adele was wearing his ex wife’s clothes when she was about to get it on with chris. Even if it ended up in naught, that was just distasteful af. I read a spoiler that adele would end up heavily relying on mark while shes still involved with chris. The situation makes it a bit more forgiveable, but why must the author be so cruel towards the second lead? Have him continuously yearning, at her every beck and call all the while making it painstakingly clear that they she wants someone else. I don’t quite understand what value it serves, waiting for the day to find a story where authors don’t cheaply use another character at their disposal to seemingly increase the allure of the protagonist and sometimes serve as a simpleton tool to emphasise the main lead’s feelings. There are smarter ways to do that, writing a romance story without compassion seems counteractive. When they treat a character like a disposable while also making them likeable and genuine i think it really takes away from the story’s quality while negatively influencing how readers should view the lead characters and their ability to make decisions with empathy in mind.
