I went ahead and read the novel but dropped it immediately. The engagement was real. It turned out that the ML was not aware of his own feelings and when the fiancee gave an ultimatum that they can't get married unless he cut ties with the MC, he chose the MC and broke off the engagement. LOL. Don't worry, the fiancee is not a bxtch. She's just the victim of this situation cos these two people couldn't get their shit together. She's really cool.
