I think they were just trying to explain that while their history is a central factor to the story (him sleeping around, her being a virgin) it’s not the main point. It’s character building and it’s not their motivation for sleeping with each other.

She clearly has her own autonomy to choose this for herself, so the story isn’t romanticizing her virginity, or rather—her choice of virginity. Maybe it highlights her inexperience, but at the end of the day—her reason for staying a virgin is something she no longer believes in.

The ML just so happens to be the first guy she sleeps with. Not because of love, not because she thinks she’ll end up with the her friend, but because she felt like she deserved to have fun. That’s not purity.

Well done for everyone’s talking points. I also believe the story isn’t necessarily on par with virginity it’s just that she has it. And that’s all. She’s not a puritan the manwha literally gives us a gist that she’s curious she’s just not into it with people or so she says.

Dohyeon sleeps around yes. He’s had girlfriends in Highschool which is normal. He fooled around in college too okay yes. People do that. He wasn’t with our Protagonist, they were just friends and it was her emotional response to them falling out of their friendship. The manhwa’s direction isn’t to show slutshame onto Dohyeon and isn’t Showing purity on our Protagonist either. They are both freaky. Our protagonist is just emotional about her partner not giving the time to let them both not engage in intercourse. She’s conflicted to try it because of the emotional response (her making herself drunk to cope.) Dohyeon allows that as an outlet. We as viewers only hear the ‘rumors’ and ‘gossip’ from Friends/Classmates in the story. We don’t have a background onto Dohyeon yet! So we should look forward to it. 11 chapters isn’t enough for a full analysis

Yes, I'm weird. I'm pointing out that we're all weird. It's especially bizarre that I pointed out being annoyed at the cliché of 'it's acceptable if the man in the story has slept with others, but the girl is almost always a virgin' and... a handful of strangers are like 'no u dum'. Gasp, it's almost like different people have different opinions, and maybe I've gotten more fed up with sexist undertones in practically everything. So I gave my opinion when I saw everyone debating their points. I don't agree in only thinking of sex positivity towards males, but FLs are held to more conservative standards. Women shouldn't have to be a virgin, paired with an experienced man, in almost everything. It's a tale as old as time. It grates on me that the world is still stuck on thinking of women like... commodities. Sure, it's 'just this story'. The problem for me is that there's a blindingly obvious bias for this sort of pairing. I called out that there's a midground between everyone arguing.

I've had a lot of debates with people over what's essentially only a small difference in opinion. I've learned to not take it personally. ...it's just impossible not to poke an angry kid shrieking at me. It reminds me of my niece, always being a bulldog over what she thinks is 'right'.
