I remember reading the novel, and it's what the ml did. He was so obsessed he resulted in schemes to win mc over (they're mostly harmless¿ but effective). He even ended up calling the ahjussi dad and getting jealous over nani (aka himself after he dug his own grave)

already be aware of the atrocities of the 'medical' world during the 19th century? Even before entering med school, in highschool or college isn't it basic knowledge what happened in the past, how they handled patients and hospital practices and such? I just do not get why he's so surprised. Don't even get me started, Joseph Lister literally appeared on our recent prelims, that's saying a lot. And yes, I'm also familiar with a lot of names appearing, which makes it really fun
As he said as far as I can remember he mentioned never studying that much and didn't care about history and only focused on being master in surgery. I mean in my time as a nursing student we were just told 'Ah it's bad back then because there was not much discovery or medical field is still in it's baby steps' but I'm sure London back then have many surprises. Well take it as a grain of salt since I studied only for two years before shifting course.

Or maybe the nursing courses do not cover medical history even as an introduction?
It did introduce some history like Florence Nightingale's exploits and such but more focuses on the Theoretical Foundation of Nursing. So no we didn't study how bad was it back then but the theories behind the progressions in medical history and how it came to be. But we certainly didn't know what methods the 1800 used in medicine which is this manhwa highlights.

They should cover it, but it depends on the school. Usually there’s a basic timeline of events that happened and when things came to be. At least most schools with any sort of professional degree tends to have that basic sort of timeline and then might go into depth on some of things if relevant to the current topic.
