They probably got together through mc's efforts of following him acting cute and showing he likes him, and top most likely only agreed to be together from being constantly having the other's presence rubbed on his life. That, or milder versions. But main point is that, based on the tidbits of flashbacks shown, the top didn't exactly "love" the mc when they got together, but he also didn't hate it. He probably fell in love somewhere in the middle but never realized it until recently, he seems used to repressing his emotions from growing up seeing ghosts all the time. AND for that reason, everyone's saying he's shitty for not caring for the mc when it's probably because he's simply too used to encountering the dead on a daily basis and the not realizing his feelings part made him look apathetic
Well there's only 3 chapters so that's all complete speculations I just wanna give the guy a chance lol
