I’m not really sure why she’s infertile now but the ending is, they got 3 boys and a daughter

since he seems to love her still i’m pretty sure it still seemed like she died ?? and then he forgot about her and felt empty the whole time without knowing why for years so yes he does suffer but maybe not as much as the readers would like <3
