Saetbyul deserved better. Reading this series has made me physically nauseous.
To anyone wondering if they should continue after having read the first one with no real ending: you deserve better, too. Don't. The art isn't good, the writing isn't good, my soul feels unhealthy after reading this. He was treated like shit his entire life by literally everyone including his closest friend, who is actually his brother, who rapes him until MC gives up and convinces himself he needs him. I wish I could say that's an over dramatic take since I see comments like this in BL comment sections all the time and we all know the pitfalls of this genre... I've read literally hundreds and hundreds of BL comics... Rarely am I straight up genuinely upset like this. The author should be ashamed of themself.

For anyone else who loves this classic like me you might want to read For You Who Grieves. Shares a lot of its plot points with this one and is almost complete. I love both, this trope makes me weak.

If you love this story you'll love that one, I've been reading BL for years too and there's really little that can be compared to ateotr. I'd say that the ML is a little less deranged in the other story, though an unreal amount of the plot is shared between the two stories otherwise, definitely recommend.

Every story I've read with a dad running from loan sharks doesn't give a shit about their kid... Was pleasantly surprised. Even if he's in the throws of a gambling addiction, at least he didn't try to sell his son off to fix it like every other BL debtor father does.

Yeah instead he abandoned him when he was a child, hid and hoped they wouldn't harm a child... which they did, Mc was beaten, taken to the police numerous times and couldn't eat much.
+ the loan sharks threatened him wanting to know the location of the dad and even kidnapped him.
Father of the year folks

I've been looking through these comments and some say they ended up together, some not?? I dropped it forever ago and just want to finish it now that it's been completed and I love the artist, but I want to read a romance, not just a peaceful end.

I don't remember much details about the story since I read it a while ago and I don't know where you left off but I can give you a run down of how it ended. Spoilers below

Hwan basically because more and more possessive over Chiwoo and Chiwoo kinda of starts pulling away and getting closer to Jin which makes things worse. More drama happens after he learns about the past and his parents dying, ended up wtih survivor's guilt. Things come to a head and their magical forms are revealed to each other. Hwan kills Jin and that sort of pushes Chiwoo over the edge and breaks up with Hwan and basically goes no contact with him.
Hwan gets even more upset at the distance and kinda goes rampant in his magical form, Chiwoo sacrifices himself to save Hwan from himself. In return, Hwan's wish is granted and Sunny is sealed away. Hwan basically resets time but to a time period where Chiwoo's parents didn't die. Meaning he never grew up with Chiwoo after he moved away as a kid. Hwan remembers everything that happened in the other timeline and suffers for many years seeing no meaning to life and thinking Chiwoo disappeared.
By chance they get reunited but Hwan is content he is alive and happy but has reserves about being in his life since he knows he's a bad person and doesnt want to ruin Chiwoo again. Chiwoo kind of falls for Hwan and tried to pursue a relationship but is turned down by Hwan until he feels he can become a better person for him.
Last chapter they still arent together but are both happy in their relationship even if Hwan still does want to be with him. Jin is then introduced and it's hinted that Chiwoo is attracted to him which does flare up some jealousy in Hwan but doesn't seem like it will be the same possessive jealously he had in the previous timeline.
This is what I can remember, the timeline for the earlier drama may not be 100% correct or in the right order but its the basics haha

You should read it! It's a nice story with an open happy ending (not too much open). I wouldn't say the plot is divine and the characters layered and complex, cause they are not, but it's definitely overall good. Pleasant art, good smut, happy vibes. ML shows crappy behaviour and red flags in the central part but has a great redemption arc.
They all talked right before going to the palace about how only a royal could destroy the contract. Yet Alec burned it right in front of Lydian and the mark disappeared, yet he didn't put two and two together?? And then Alec thinks about how exhausting it would be to prove it and gives up without trying... When he literally already proved it right to his face.
Lmao, agree. The plot hole’s kinda stupid.
I actually thought Lydian knows—since he mentioned that he’s using Alec to get the contract and it must be him and no one else can do it. That’s why I was confused when he said Alec will have a hard time finding the contract since it will look normal to him.
The uncle also seems to know, lmao he gave Alec a pair of glasses to seemingly hide his purple eyes (both he and the king has purple eyes). Must be the signature eye color for royalties. Suddenly, Helen and Lydian are stupid for not figuring out how he could destroy the contract when he is not a vampire and that Lydian knows that the first prince is alive.
This could’ve have been a route of the plot had it not been ended abruptly
