You ever notice that in stories where a protagonist trust someone and relies on someone who's an abuser the comments always have more smoke for the protagonist than the abuser like that's weird right the way people get really really mad at protagonist who are victims of abuse for not acting like perfect victims and "being dumb" or whatever or going back to the abuser is weird like idk I'm not a survivor but I can just imagine being a survivor and reading comments of people ridiculing a character for acting in a way that they've done and honestly it's kinda messed up
People always wanna put more blame on the person who's going through abuse than the abuser choosing to mistreat someone and it's weird
I’ve been through it and people need to realize that when it happens you are too emotionally attached to leave like your brain gaslight you into thinking its all good and the abuser knows that too so you really think « but there are happy moments » its hard and long to explain you have to live it to understand it
You know what I can't even really talk shit about Jeong because like I kinda get it like in his mind this random almost stranger of a classmate kissed him randomly and he suddenly had to uproot his life not to mention got hit by his dad over something he took very little part in like realistically his dad ruined his life but you know what I can't blame him for feeling some type of way about In Hyun but also I can't really blame In Hyun (in the present ) because what Jeong said was cruel and hurtful and certainly not a pleasant way to get rejected by your crush and he doesn't know the circumstances in his mind Jeong is just a homophobic asshole who wants to get his dick wet in a way that's convenient for him but also also I can't really blame Jeong for not telling In Hyun any of that because one it's embarrassing but two it's traumatic it's hard to share that kind of trauma on a hood day with someone you've been friends with for decades much less with your fuck buddy and subordinate who's low key the reason your life went off the rails the second time but I gueds with the reveal of his father having a secret son he clearly loves way more and an inkling that his dad probably hates him that gave him to go ahead to like actually live his life for himself but thus confession and feelings realization also also also I can't blame In Hyun for not believing him because to him this came out of nowhere and yeah we as readers know this has been building for a while now but In Hyun doesn't know that to him this is just a random switch up for no reason especially after the things Jeong said but also also also also I can't really fully blame Jeong for what he said because his dad is actively trying to sabotage him using In Hyun so low key he was right
Damn shout out to the author I guess for creating a story where the conflict can't just be solved with communication because of factors that aren't just one of the protagonist being an insufferable douche never expected such a complicated conflict from this story in particular but like props I guess
