what i wouldn’t do to have the “twist” that they’re NOT royalty. it’s always being a high ranking noble/royals child. why can’t it for once be like… the kings best friend. or a famous knights daughter. i get the plot of putting them in a high power position suddenly… but its so common that even a few of the comments here had already predicted a connection with the human king.
