Wanna cry bc I’ve noticed my memory has become so so bad and my ability to spell, speak, and knowledge of grammar as a whole has severely depleted. I forget the meanings and spellings of basic/common words all the time, can’t remember any names if anyone or anything anymore, things I did today/the day before, etc. My brain is just overall trash rn

I’ve been thinking about this a lot here lately. I know for the longest time I never knew real people were used for video games/most video games and thought the character’s faces were made up unless it was someone I could definitely recognize lmao. But using face models is very popular now. But to me, many times the video game character still seems/looks different from the face model so I just always see them as two different people completely unless it’s a situation with graphics like Death Stranding. Other than that most of the time I don’t see the face model as the same as the character, even physically.
I also have been thinking about this because I learned Leon Kennedy’s face model hates being associated with Leon Kennedy now bc so many fans started flooding his posts and talking about Leon Kennedy and sexualizing him. Like, Leon’s face model is handsome and kind if resembles Leon but they look very different. And why go for him when you have Leon himself??? And I saw an old Reddit post about the face model and voice actor for Connor from Detroit: Become Human. They said seeing sexual art of Connor made them feel gross because Connor is an actual person. Or people comparing Trish’s face model to her in game design for DMC and saying the model is prettier than Trish, etc.
So, idk I’ve just been thinking about it. Is the video game character and the model the same? Does sexualizing the character = sexualizing the actor? Do you guys view them as two separate entities?
Personally, I do view the characters and their actors as separate entities, because they are, after all. They only share the same face and maybe a few other aspects, but in the end, they are different and exist in different spaces/ universes. I think this is the healthy way to think about it and people should absolutely not harass the actors for simply doing their job. But oh well...it's unfortunately something inevitable and actors will have to deal with such people too. It's also understandable that some would take ofense and be bothered by people sexualizing their characters, especially if they grew attached to them and came to identify as them to a point and if people harass them because of a role they once played. But the internet will always do its thing and it can't be stopped. For thr most part, I think sexualizing characters is fine (depending on the context and as long as it's nothing too problematic). They do not exist and can't be hurt. Franchises earn a lot from the gooners' pockets too. But when it extends to their actors, which are real people with feelings and conscience, it's bad. All they did was do their job well. It's not their fault some people didn't fully develop their frontal lobe.
I didn’t read every single chapter of the novel, mostly the end, so some things I may have missed but the end of the book was enough for me to know that the ML is disgusting and this story fucking sucks. Yoonsa (ML) keeps Eunoh as a slave for stealing his clothes. But he beats him, threatens to kill him, and uses him for pleasure. Ofc idk if Eunoh was raped when they started having sex, I skipped some of that. If he was, Eunoh was an idiot thinking about it as “pleasure” and not bad. Anyways,
Eunoh ends up liking Yoonsa and runs away from him at some point because he had been accused of theft (this time he didn’t do it) and also was a Yokai, a species Yoonsa hates. Yoonsa was furious and shortly later he found him because a friend had found Eunoh and kept him. He goes to see Eunoh and the friend says Yoonsa is in love with Eunoh and should be gentler to him. Needless to say, Yoonsa is still not good to Eunoh. And love?
I don’t even think it can be called that with the way he thinks about Eunoh. All Yoonsa admits that could be close to “love” is that he is incapable of killing Eunoh. But he brings Eunoh back and is indifferent to him because he didn’t want to punish him to be “sweet”. But he literally completely ignored him and is harsh eith his words still.
Eunoh is a fucking dumbass and likes Yoonsa and wants his attention so the lack of punishment and anger made him feel bad and he asks for Yoonsa to punish him. Yoonsa then punishes him with sex. Eunoh confesses that he has confusing feelings for Yoonsa and thinks he likes him. Yoonsa tells he has also has confusing feelings and Eunoh should stay by his side so he can figure it out. But Yoonsa’s actions and thoughts towards Eunoh are so frustrating bro. He treats him horribly and thinks about him horribly but then is like “Eunoh must never leave” “I have love and hate for Eunoh”
Later on Yoonsa finds out Eunoh is a yokai and attempts to kill him and just a lot of other horrible stuff. He passed out beforehand. Eunih is still dumb and decides to stay because he likes Yoonsa and made a promise he would never runaway again. (I hate Eunoh ngl, be forgives Yoonsa wayyyy too much and puts up with so much shit) Yoonsa wakes up and is furious that Eunoh is yokai and that Eunoh tried to “runaway” again by almsot dying previously (not Yoonsa attempting to kill him, before that) Yoonsa is also injured atp and must rest for his wounds.
He keeps Eunoh naked in his room and has rough and harsh sex with him. He calls him horrible things and acts maliciously. Eunoh feels bad and is slowly wasting away because he is tired, can’t eat, and sad. Yoonsa one day recognizes that Eunoh is not doing well and attempts to send Eunoh away because he also made a promise to Eunoh that he would give him a chance to live should Eunoh ever upset him badly enough. Eunoh is again sad that Yoonsa wants him gone and asks why. Yoonsa tells him he is a Yokai, a species he hates. He has Aejung (love and hate) for Eunoh. And that Eunoh is not doing well and is scared of him so sending him away is for the best.
And this stupid mf Eunoh says he can’t feel that it is unfair Yoonsa hates him for his race and has treated him this way!!! Yoonsa hates yokai because his mom fell in love with one and left him or something. And I’m like, what. You kill and torture A WHOLE RACE because your mom left you for a yokai?? Mother fucker that is so dumb. And Eunoh knows why he hates Yokai but etill likes him and says it’s understandable
Anyways, that’s where I stopped and there’s only a fee chapters left after that one. For all the misery and torture Yoonsa puts Eunoh through, for there to only be a few chapters left of them MAYBE being together in love is really frustrating. Imo, Yoonsa doesn’t love Eunoh and is an idiotic asshole who deserves to die. But at the same time Eunoh is a dumb, delusional, pushover who is also kind of asking for it
His reason for hating yokai was the most uneventful and dumbest thing in the novel.
Even Garon got a better reason and it was still insane.
