From being a malnourished kid that had to lear how to fight in exchange for a plate of food, to a teenager that thought that winning would make his abusive father recognize him and make his mother comeback to him, to an adult that had no clear path in mind to however Jaek has become now, accepting that he fucked up and that he can't just win Dan over because there has been so much damage done. Some people are really sleeping on the nuances, BJ Alex had no character growth so I appreciate the author trying this time around. I don't think she will be able to make a great redemption arc, but you can see clearly that her storytelling has improved a little from her previous story! As a veteran in BL pieces the story is predictable enough but seeing the author improve has been great, specially from how BJ Alex was so cake-box recipe, at least now the characters have a bit more of personality!!
