Barely took the first steps to being OK and could have been great. They meet and fell in love being kids but missed each other's difficult transition to adulthood. Getting together during a stable period forces them to deal with the aftermath of adapting, growing and fundamentally changing; realizing they no longer know each other. The NEED to put the L in BL and restricting the pace to 7 chapters is a deadly sin. The amount of side quests these 2 would have to clear in order to have a relationship deserves 20 volumes but I'd settle for 3. Issei's unstoppable "cool guy" personality is ruined because it exists only to have him invite, accept, forgive, understand and support Nacchan's paper thin character arc. Issei's struggles and stakes were a lot more dark and dramatic than a creative sheltered's kid road to being a burnt out paper pusher. Both are interesting and relatable so we're lucky a myriad of competent writers have explored these themes in much deeper and sincere ways.
(also again with the fucking virgin trope... wasting half a chapter with the purity trophy made me decide not to purchase this one.)
