Now the pay is 0. Manga artists live by donation like beggars. This is the horrible truth.
So, if you dont pay sometimes an author, the only manga you will read in the future will be AI generated manga, because artist cannot work for free, it’s just not possible. You really really have to support authors. Never ever give money to paradise scan for example. Paradise scan is shit. Manga artists have 0 protection and 0 way to make money other than by being supported by humans. Artists are a grave endangered specy on the verge of extinction, and believe me I know very well what I am talking about. It's true but there is also a valid point to what they said. If they're using AI, it ruins good translation and it also bothers that you have to pay on their website to read chapters. In my opinion, they are in fact stealing money and this is worse than having people read for free on an illegal website.

There is only webtoon here, less and less manga. Mangago should rename itself as manwhago. Plus manwha are really low quality except a very very few compared to manga. Do japanese still do manga or not anymore? I am sad to think i am the only one here who craves for good quality content

there are plenty of mangas, it's just that it's not very mainstream here and you have to either stumble upon or search for them. but there are many! don't be discouraged

i think as the audience and age range change the works that are most read and preffered are changing overtime too. so while the number of mangas may not decrease, because mangas aren't as popular as they used to be they are kinda left in the shadows so it looks like there are way more manhwas than mangas. but it's true that many manwhas are really bad because most of them are written by artists who want to be popular quickly by joining in on what's trendy instead of actually creating a meaningful piece of work. but rest assured, you're not alone. i think many readers like us think likewise and are in the search of good content :)
just because webtoons are very popular on this site hence the push of it on the top of the genres doesn’t mean there isn’t a plethora of mangas

Well, ive ben on this site for maaany years. A few years ago the first comic choice was a manga, but now you have to look for manga. Try go to the yaoi section and then update. The first manga will be on the second page.
I've been here in this site for almost 10 years and you're right, because webtoons are getting more and more mainstream and because korean webtoons is such an over saturated market the site is filled with them. Japanese manga have monthly serialisation while korean manhwas need to have weekly ones to avoid drowning and being forgotten in the immense ocean of manhwas. And that's why in the recent yaoi uploads its mostly manhwa because they have more frequent uploads and there so so many of them. And yes, I agree a lot of manhwas are very cheaply made because of the same reason too, they don't really have a huge team and company and a month for a deadline like mangas. I got into this site in 2016 because i wanted to read mangas and I remember in 2020 when webtoons started getting popular I really couldn't get into them because of some cheap plotlines and art but there are some really good ones out there!!
I get your point. I do think that there are good manwhas but i go on this website everyday and i feel that those good manwhas are rare tbh. When there was more manga, there was still a lot of good quality manga. I feel that for 10 mangas on this site at that time 7 were good, but now for 10 manwhas 1 is good
I go to myreadingmanga for bl mangas, they have a much larger assortment of mangas that aren’t here in mangago, just press on a manga and then press the manga tag and viola
