Based on the theories posted by the commenters, i have a theory. Maybe Mimi's destiny is to die before his ideals are realized, and anubis uses his petrification power to freeze him before his life goes away, and the way to revive mimi's soul is to mend it with a bit of nunu's soul. So in essence, rocky is mimi+nunu but not as 2 distinct identities. Does that make sense?
