Currently ugly crying, I’m lot heart broken that they didn’t go back to each other much earlier even when Gene finally came back to the US… Why did he never visit… he said he was so in love but never came running back ? but still has one of the previous comment mentioned this is a realistic love story and that’s what for me makes it all the more heartbreaking. People are so stubborn and never communicate properly.
and him returning home was never in the cards even his brother understood. Him returning home would have destroyed his character and development. He left his love just to what? go back to what he initially escaped from? (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ I’d flip my ipad at that kind of ending
