Hmmm…horse still isn’t fully realizing the trauma he caused Dan. Coz wdym you’re only partly at fault? Like if not all a very big part of it is your fault! Also I think the flashback kinda messed up the pacing of his redemption(?) arc. It kinda feels sudden after reading that flashback and maybe that’s why it feels kinda weak in my opinion. Also yes, this is prob the best horse can do at this moment (given his past actions) to keep Dan with him and make him get help that he needs.
