Wow people in the comments are fucking stupid. I thought this was an wwmap copy but i like it better ngl. It was kinda weird how she immediately changrd after reading the book. Like even when she consoled nasar, he said himself that he took a long time to change. But philomel felt like her personality flipped after 1 day. I guess it can be explained by the traumatic experiences but i gejuinely cant believe a person can change that quickly. She gemuinely became a different person and put all her trust in the book just like that. Anyways i was always conflicted about these types of plots. Because the dad does sometjimg horrible, then changes, hes forgiven and the plot becomes wholesome. Im glad it didnt turn out that way. It shows more depth into her character, and i kike how she actually ran away. I saw some people say how they prefer the emperor over the mage dad but like, if his words caused so much trauma that she could change in a day, then theres no way she would forget the hurt she recieved eben if he started treating her better. Ive also read about how this story promotes the "blood is thicker than water" but ur stupid if u think that like genuinely the point of the book is the opposite. The whole plot is the opposite. When she first met the mage dad, she felt so conflicted because she felt like she didnt belong anywhere. The love from the emperor wasnt hers because she wasnt related by blood, but she could reciece affection even from her family that was related to her by blood. That was the whole point of the story. Its not like she immediately trusted the mage family because theyre related. But she chose them in the end because of the things she went througj and how they all unconditionally supported her. While the emperor raised her, you cant really just erase his past mistakes because he changed. He apologized but he was never active in supporting phil like the mage dad. I think the story could have gone either way, but because of the circumstances, the mage family was skewed towards as the main fanily. And im mot complaining. I wouldve liked a 2 dad kind of situation, but honestly her going with the mages is better. They dont believe in blood either. Like he never treated her a certain way just because theyre blood related, but rather they built that relationship and especially with phils true self. Thats the main point evb is missing. Phil could be her true self with them and not the emperor. Anyways case closed i really like this story. The plot is a little cliche but its deep and tugs on my heartstrings. Also usually the mcs take forever to connect clues vut shes pretty smart. I also like her attitude because its pretty realistic.
