It’s FAR from romantic when you analyze this story from a deeper perspective. I see a lot of people trying to deny the fact that Won is “continuing the cycle” of abuse he has faced with his pedophilic tutor …. when that’s one of the main points of the manhwa. The age gap is meant to cause discomfort (especially since he met Jinha when he was a preteen), because THAT’S THE POINT.
From taking up the same manipulative personality he learned from his tutor, to teaching Jinha private lessons, to repeating the same “he just needs to focus” phrase he once loathed, from saying he’ll wait until Jinha gets older …… this is grooming—the same cycle of abuse.
There’s just so many layers. The jokes are funny but really, it’s just so tragic …….
Overall, I love how twisted it is—how it highlights all these dark symptoms of grief and abuse.
