Well, I do believe he loved his ex wife, to a certain degree. But you have to understand same sex marriage was and still is illegal in Korea, so there was no hope of him loving someone like him truly, so he went with the safer option-marrying a woman. He loved her, but it most likely wasn’t truly romantic. They broke up when she found out he was gay. She wasn’t necessarily upset by the fact. For all she knew he was bi or she was the exception. But once his secret was out and he didn’t fight to explain himself or keep her around, she knew he never loved her in the same way she loved him.
His fuck buddy…. That I just think being gay in this society, your options are limited, but he was honest upfront that it was never serious. It hurt the f buddy’s feelings at first, but then he grew to learn that they’ll never be more and then move on as their relationship was not healthy at all. Very complicated.
