From what I see- all of us in the comment sections are plenty used to seeing this -good guys gon' rape- plot in bls. And we all know with how prevalent rape cases r in bls- especially the good/best ones- we can't just give up the manga itself so easily. So- how do I deal with that bull? I simply blame the author & not the characters themselves IF & ONLY IF- they have been so great & amazing till now.
Now- coming onto Mathew's case- our boy's been the best(to Jin ofc) till the last few chaps. So- do I not blame him for the rape? Nope. Do I call it a RAPE? Yes. Was it a ok for him to do that? Nope. Was it the author's wrong call on borderline romanticising rape? Yes. But- the final & most important question that I & we all want an answer to- Do we hate our lil Mathew? Nope. Not at all. Why? Well- I'll point it down-
1. Matt would NEVER hurt Jin if he'd known that it wasn't dream. Bro quite literally rushed into Shinhai office to just know that he's safe. He knows how severe that injury is & therefore in his sane mind- where he actually REMEMBERS that the REAL Jin is injured- he would never dare to try something like that. Matt might come to hate Jin- but he still can't EVER willingly hurt him- I KNOW that cuz I've just reread the manga for s2.
2. Jin could've stopped him & he also didn't. Am I implying that it in any way meant consent? Nope. But is Jin implying that this is how he'd like to deal with things? VERY MUCH SO. And yes- that ain't healthy- not in the slightest BUT- Is Jin- a guy who is capable of beating even his most loyal subordinates half to death for "phone manners" healthy? At all? Definitely not. This series itself is riddled with unhealthy- very Very Unhealthy points & that's just how it's been- but we've been able to ignore it before it reached to this.
3. I'mma blame that gray haired- I manipulate & never regret- piece of a scum for this man. I'm guessing he easily knew that shit would blow if he left Matt to Jin in that condition & cuz he wanted EXACTLY that- for Jin to lose trust & absolutely hate Matt- he did just that. Shitbag.
FINALLY- do I like this or support this kind of twist at all? Nope. Not in the slightest. I can understand WHY the author might've wanted to go down this route but I still think that it could've been done in a better way & DEFINUTELY NOT BY DRAGGING A RAPE SCENE FOR CHAPTERS.

-end.
A rapist is a rapist. No matter how much you said you don’t like the scene, you’re still guilty for trying to even “slightly” make excuses for it
