Some could reckon that if he doused him in love that that would have been just as, if not worse, than what he did now. Would it feel less painful to find out that the person you’re in a loving relationship with drove you to kill yourself in your past life? I don’t think so.
Honestly it probably would’ve scared and overwhelmed him. Giving him space initially was the best answer imo. And even though he was given a second chance, he wasn’t given the answers and was probably playing it safe (and scared of fucking it up again).
