Why’d this dumpster fire get officials who approved ts

lmfao arent you guys who are all arguing against this comment doing the same thing? You guys are all asking “why not just leave if u dont like it?” Well the original poster left an opinion majority of you didnt like, and … if you didn’t like it.. why not just move on…? Like i dont get it yall dragging this out for what, isnt the amount of downvotes enough and honestly getting ratioed on a mangago comment section doesnt always mean ur in the wrong , yall saying anything to defend this manga atp who gaf

I think its because it could be how beloved this story is while a story like Jinx is kinda split.
This story is fairly old and most readers are those who loved it before all this rhetoric that blurs the line between reality and fiction. Nowadays, people correlate the 2 which leads to repetitive arguments.

The early plot surrounding Takato being a perfectionist tsundere competing with an airhead is what made it compelling for me. Also I agree with @Doppye that if you started reading this a decade ago (which I did), or even 5 years ago, the community was more in a headspace of separating fiction from real life morals & desires. People also followed up more on any story that was longer than 1 vol cuz that usually meant something about it was good (which this was and is when you look at it in it's entirety).
If the first chapter gave you a bad impression, that's fair and understandable. But people that say they love this manga don't love it for the ch1 rape scene, we love it for everything else. For me, Takato is an amazing, inspirational character tbh for a lot of his qualities, especially determination

It boils down to personal opinion and if you think this was a compelling story, no one will stop you from thinking that. Despite that, I think it’s disheartening that people hold these opinions because you are outweighing the rape and harassment Takato went through with this “compelling” story telling you speak of. Your defense, along with so many others is that this is just “fiction” and honestly? I think that makes you a bad person. You say this under the assumption that it won’t influence reality but you’re quite literally wrong and I can even point you to examples of fiction influencing reality. Where am I going with this? Because fiction influences reality, we may 1. become desensitized to rape victims because of the media we consume and excuse it under the pretext that it’s fiction and 2. Messed up freaks out there will find justification in rape/assault/harassment through these fictional stories. Thankfully, this “headspace of separating fiction from real life morals” is breaking down and more people are genuinely concerned about choosing what to and what not to support in fiction because it is a direct reflection of their character in “real life” and a projection of their “morals and desires”.
I’m not blinded by pure rage from the first chapter alone. The whole story is distasteful and the experience of reading it feels gross. Takato is not an amazing and inspirational character. The only complexities about his character is his trauma response which is turning his VERY traumatic experience into romantic love towards his perpetrator.

Thank you . Funny enough, what got me here in the first place was a YT comment about a scene in the anime adaptation that was changed. I wanted to find out what and immediately found out it was the first epsiode/chapter. After jumping over that hurdle, I found the story to be beautiful and witty. My favorite arc was the Spain arc. I read it more often than the rest.

This is quite the backhand smack you just gave.
You can't say you respect one's opinions but also say how you don't at the same time. I didn't read through the whole thing because what you say isn't something new.
I'm unsure what you're trying to accomplish because it's already been established that the OG readers has already jumped past the first hurdle and is looking at the story as a whole rather than just the first chapter. You aren't advocating for anyone since Azumaya and Takato aren't real and the whole point of reading is to escape reality for a moment.
If you truly feel this way, by all means, I recommend Western media rather than Eastern.

I never said I respected y’all’s opinion so idk where that came from! And ofc you’re not gonna read the whole thing because I’m right. “Azumaya and Takato aren’t real” “escape reality for a moment” = rape in fiction is perfectly fine and I like reading about it is what you’re saying. I don’t wanna argue w u because you don’t even have a good argument bc you’re wrong.

Thank you as well for backing me a bit. I love the Spain Arc too, but once I listened to the drama CDs, the Blood Wedding Arc became my #1 (≧∀≦) Plus I gained some newfound respect for VA Takahashi Hiroki, and I respected his talent a lot already ♡♡♡
That person is very nasty and immature, acting like they've "won" and have the "objectively right opinion". Best to just leave em to their own devices
Mouth drooling at the thought of what might happen next chapter. Imma be opening that chapter with my left hand heh…..dattebayo
