I think that it’s interesting how the story was perfectly described by how the characters saw the painting: It wasn’t the most spectacular or groundbreaking in anyway, but the illustrations, from how the slightest interaction conveys their emotions to us clearer than they’re even aware of themselves, the lyrical prose of their thoughts shown to us, made it so that this was an incredibly intimate study of their lives. A stunner for sure.
