straight historical manwha.
fl ines is super gloomy. she lives a couple lives trying to escape crown prince, in her second life she meets a guy emilliano and has a baby with him. in final life she gets with carcel.
I wasn't expecting much when I started reading the manhwa. Reading the comments, it got me into the novel and I dropped the manhwa. In the novel, you can feel the love Ines has for Cartel, I wasn't expecting her to be that insane about him after reading the manhwa, what a surprise!... And the love he has for Ines is just too deep, in the manhwa, there's none of that, in all honesty, they failed the novel. You feel so heart-wrenching at their love in the novel... someone in the comment section told me everyone they know drop the manhwa after reading the novel, but they just want to see the end of it so they will keep on reading. It's more than lacking depth, the essence of the novel is not there. Thats sad, one of my favorite non BL novel.
has around 90 chapters atm. about an uptight lawyer whos forced to accept a junior, they work at donguk¿ law firm. the junior lawyer starts of pro bono cases as hes doing the volunteer work for his team which is then put under ml’s name. mc excels in giving sympathy, something the ml doesnt like and see necessary. ml puts mc through tests in his probation period to see if mc is the right fit- he gives mc impossible task of summarising a case in two days. mc completes the task and gives objective summary, only to find out ml wanted mc to figure out he needed to take a more subjective stand for the defendant of the case.
i can give more details i was literally reading last night but i forgot where i picked it from and the title :,(
ughh i hatee characters that are made to be so smart and strong, yet somehow completely oblivious to very obvious things in the story. i get it, the entire plot is built on her not knowing he’s her husband. but like brooo. its like watching maomao not realising jinshi is related to the emperor all over again. it actually agitates me so much. i find it so hard to believe she hasn’t thought of the possibility and questioning him more. every chapter is “is this man my husband.” *does or says something pointing that it’s obviously her husband* “no way, this isn’t my husband”
i just want to reach through my damn phone and smack some sense into her. and what the hell is up with the rape scene. he is so perverted and disgusting. look, i understand that being molested and raped is a very real concern for women in places like the army, navy etc. but jesus. its like she’s this strong female character that’s just been shredded down to her sexuality, leaving her with no actual character development.
again, i get it’s all just smut- i get it. im just annoyed at how little depth this character has. she’s been through a lot, she’s tough, but i find it hard to actually connect and feel anything for her.
they just feel bland. you know what im talking about. you read a story and the whole time they just feel like characters on a page- not people who’s emotions you can see and feel.
anyways ive been here since the beginning, im not sure why ive continued reading this for so long.
fr, i feel like there could be so much more to explore about her character but her sociopathic tendencies are just used here and there as the plot needs them to be
