like the way they were competing for the promotion while they had no chance (Taft and Roosevelt) while someone else had 100% lead (Wilson) Am I crazy??? Is it all in my head??

there was a lot of chapter but sometime between the mid-end of the story it felt like they were just rushing to finish. I personally enjoyed the pacing at the beginning so the really bad translations and it all just ending as some romance rather than what it seemed to originally be just sucked :(
Generally I feel it did its job for a short story; It could've definetely benefitted from being longer. Everything was just told to you rather than expressed by the story and characters, the conflicts were quickly resolved in unsatisfactory ways and the ending was just cliche which would've been fine if it wasn't for the story behind it. Overall, it was an okay story, good read but definetely wouldn't re-read. Don't go into it looking for depth.
