girl i can't focus reading this ud bcs im still on that part when he put his ear on mc's chest and listen to his fcking heartbeat (we all know what that implies) AFTER THEY HAD SMEX i can'tttttt i truly predicted how awful of a direction this is going before but im still sad witnessing it
i need to know if im the only one who struggle and i don't mean that lightly, it gen takes everything in me to read mangas (bcs they're mostly b/w+ crowded¿but i mean any bw works in gen) IDK IM SORRY it hurts my eyeballs sb and i feel awful bcs ik there are so many amazing works that im def missing out on, altho i do manage to read some but they're mostly short works bcs reading it gives me a headache likeee it's so overstimulating for me i need someone on my side
I have the same problem, but with manhwa/manhuas. The colours are so bright even if I lower my phone's brightness and it hurts my eyes. If I read too many in a short time I even get headaches lmao.
There are also some animes I can't watch either because my eyes hurt and I deadass get migraines from them, so I avoid studio TRIGGER's works (Kill La Kill, Gurenn Lagann etc.) and Devilman Crybaby, couldn't get even past episode 1 due to my eyes hurting.
Me too, when it's too wordy and the letters are way too tiny I have to skip
Same gurl same...I get bad headaches when reading manga and it feels like i wanna gauge my eyeballs out ESPECIALLY when i read at night even with my night lights on (it's actually happening to me rn i just finished reading a manga LMAO)
But i absolutely love manga（/TДT)/ half of the stuff I've read are manga. Manga is life bro, no headache gonna stop me from reading.
Is the problem with your vision or with overcrowded panels? Because if it's vision glasses can make a huge difference. If it's due to too much going on at once then I feel you. Some mangas are lighter than others and have more negative space and silent panels so you could try looking for those. Although the best ones tend to be a mix of heavy dialogue and silent panels imo
I agree w this. But at night I prefer to read the ones with darker parts. I’ve seen one manhwa which has an all black background instead of all white which rly helps my eyeballs out lol. Colored manhwas just hurt to read at night tbh
I just remembered something I do whenever I read manga. I zoom in on the specific section I'm reading and focus on one panel at a time. It helps a lot with small text. I have poor eyesight too and that has been the best way to deal with crowded pages for me
honestly both..and i see what you're saying! im no expert but I've def read some that are much more manageable(for me) than the others

it’s honestly amusing how they preach that ‘it’s all just fiction,’ yet become disproportionately defensive the moment someone points out that the story they enjoy or love blatantly contains rape. they proudly claim to ‘know how to separate fiction from reality,’ but somehow can’t handle their supposedly ‘handsome,’ ‘rich,’ and ‘charming’ male lead being called what he actually is– a RAPIST. the irony is that in defending these narratives so aggressively, they end up normalizing the very thing they insist they understand is wrong. because really, why get so offended if what we’re saying isn’t true? i suppose being a yaoi fetishist does something quite remarkable to one’s critical thinking skills.
i also find it super funny when they say, ‘learn to separate fiction from reality,’ as if that argument holds any weight when the same people spend hours fantasizing about ‘having a partner like him.’ like, how do you claim to distinguish fiction from reality while openly romanticizing a character who’s rich, conventionally attractive, well-endowed, and, lest we forget, a rapist? the cognitive dissonance is astounding, really.
