I can only extend my sympathy to Jaekyoung for what he went through when he was younger. I understand that his past shaped some of his actions, and I’m not completely heartless about that. But let’s be real — that does not excuse the way he treated Kim Dan as an adult. His behavior was completely unjustifiable, and I won’t defend it just because of a tragic backstory.
I don’t care how remorseful he is now — it’s not enough. I need him to grovel. I need to see real regret. He should be crying, begging, kneeling at Kim Dan’s feet, and apologizing not just once, but over and over again. Only then will I maybe consider accepting his redemption arc.
