Bro, i feel sorry for helena because she had to hear that but if she actually treated her children right, she wouldn't be hearing that.
Even if she's busy, when they're eating saying "i love you" to the children, sitting close to them and after eating, hugging them shouldn't be that hard and would not cost more than 30 seconds.
Like just giving them presents that could be even chosen by the servants or even just write a letter when she have a little bit of time and make the servants read it for them would suffice, they would understand that their mother love them and try to give them affection even though she doesn't have the time.
Like, if you actually made an effort and didn't treat your children like they're the last priority in you life, that wouldn't be happening. You can't just blame someone because of your own inferiority complex towards someone that literally is praising YOU every opportunity that she gets and is doing her best to not trouble you even though she's not in that situation because she chose it and you know that.

exactly my thought!! She seems like a rational character buy she has so many unnecessary negative thoughts…she is making up problems that don’t exist and worrying about them. Her mother in law obviously doesn’t care about anything, infact she wanted to leave but couldn’t do so because YOU couldn’t say stand up to the emperor. Helena clearly can’t see that FL is chill and nonchalant about every situation, she could have actually been arrogant and walk all over her as even her stepson is a airhead but she is juat chilling.
But I seriously hope that she overcomes her insecurity, accepts the truth and the FL…

Like, because they were kids back then, i can (not really) kinda understand the hate that they came to get when they were shocked by the news that the sister that they loved "killed" their mother, but if you still hate someone by unreasonable reasons when you are already grown up enough to understand what's a wrong or right thing to do, it's just that you are a bad person.
The father and sons are the perfect example of that, they were/are grown up enough to get that it's not FL's fault and that the blame should not fall on her, yet they still mistreated her and still do so. I get that sometimes you can't just start to like someone but that doesn't mean you can mistreat them just because you don't like them.
The Fl's father's wife understood that and that's why she wanted to get a divorce (she's such a diva). Your suffering is not a excuse or green card to do whatever you want to anyone who's not even the cause of it. So like, those guys already had enough time to redeem themselves by the time they knew what's wrong and what's right, they just chose to ignore it. They just found convenient to treat Fl like that, because they needed something to place their frustration and sadness on and since they knew it wouldn't have much consequences for them to just mess up a little kid's mental health, that's what they did. That's really sick
i kinda want the plot to also focus on the magic engineering problems of sexism on the workplace, how the media covers that kinda of thing without actually trying to find a proof of who actually is the maker and how she will take her researches back, if she will be getting help from the royal family or if she's going to finally stand by herself and fight for her rights
I know it's too soon to say something, since this only have 11 chapters but i hope this isn't going to take a million years to address this matter and not just focus on romance.
You’re gonna love it so much then ^__^ it’s really fleshed out well with convincing backstories and characters with palatable lifestyles and reactions. I was so engrossed that I finished the novel in like a few days despite work/life commitments lol
Patience. We will get there
