I wanna punch Matthias too. I've also read the novel and know what's bound to happen. Their relastionship is pretty messed up, indeed, but that's how it is. Stories are not always made to have a fluffy, perfect good ending with a plot in favor of the MC.
I hate Layla's bad choices and I hate Matthias for making her choose them. It still never gonna end as we'd like, so either you go read less psychological sensitive stuff or you bear with it without insulting the author... Should be easy, right?
