it was absolutely selfish of him to make that decision and leave but imagine if they did stay together say we keep a similar timeline where they fly to USA and he gets diagnosed. She would've had to deal with the low survival rate of his surgery along with her pregnancy and even though he survived HE FORGETS EVERYTHING Imagine waking up in a hospital to find you have a wife and baby she would've been in a foreign country basically raising her baby AND starting over with her husband (i dont remember if they married but they might as well been) it would've been so stressful and heartbreaking plus we wouldn't have this story with our lovely couple
