ritzhard is an unpopular bachelor because of his wintry territory, and sieglind has never married due to her intimidating status as a decorated soldier. this is a peaceful tale of their cohabitation - it’s less of a romance and more of an extended series of “how it’s made” snippets. how do you make alcohol? cheese? how do you make use of every part of an animal? a soothing and lovely read, though i wish there was more mentions of the geopolitics. 8/10
