julian is a young boy who only knows about life’s cruelties—until a young mother shows him an random act of kindness that forever puts him on the path of violence. the pacing is incredible—the twists are insane but always earned—the love and devotion between the main characters are so heart-wrenching; there’s so much at stake! extremely violent and bleak, but it’s an amazing read. 10/10
