from my perspective, takeo felt kinds "forced" to accept Ao's feelings and go along with them, cause if he didn't it would strain their friendship heavily. however, over time he clearly started to like him back and see the side of Ao he didn't notice before.
it wasn't perfect in the beginning, but it worked out we for both of them
