Time has passed, the greiving CP Aleph wants to end his suffering. But he's visited by Jiwoo's newly released spirit animal bringing along her will: 'dont make me regret having loved you'. This triggers Aleph to change things, namely everything. He figures out how to travel back to when Jiwoo was new to the temple. Then he intercepts an away mission in the north where he sees her again and is overwhelmed with emotion.
But she doesn't know who he is, so he backs off. He then resolves to keep her from being used by the church or anyone else. No harm shall come to her under his watch
Damn. Ngl, that sounds like great plot for a sub story.

He shelters her in the north for long enough to prevent the emperor from being healed. Then Aleph takes over, changes the perception that the humans must rely on Akarna, leading by example. Jiwoo doesn't understand his actions since they basically never met bf he does all this for her. Then he returns to the north and jiwoo finally gets to know him. Aleph is reluctant to start a relationship because he wants her to have her freedom, but Jiwoo falls for him. And he finally gets his happy ending after doing the right thing... ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

So basically he still ends up with her.... But from a different timeline... Or a parallel universe... But what happens to his empire after he left? I thought he was told to atone? And he can't even kept it.... This feels like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound just to satisfy readers... Geez
I didn't want to make the post too long but basically the story is an example of an existential conversation OG Jiwoo has with her husbands about 'her' in another life if she hadn't met the elves and would that really be her? So basically justifying the 'reverse time/parallel world' Jiwoo isn't cheating on her elven husbands because each Jiwoo is free to love whomever is best for her life. That's a point the elven husbands push super hard on: Jiwoo's choice of love is the most important priority over anyone else's including theirs, that's why they do and don't get jealous of one another. I.e. Jiwoo can have as many husbands as she damn well likes you anti-poly readers lol
It was vague but from what I can understand it seemed like time was turned back. Honestly, I didn't like that they did that coz that would mean the elf hubbies were still out there suffering in that timeline
I know the rests and I'm not an anti-poly.... I've read way a ton of reverse harems....But i am an anti-redemption mls or whatever it is.... Simply say, i hate redemption arcs so I'm glad to know it isn't.... Coz i really hate mls who proclaim their love yet disregards the girl and STILL believes it is love.... Glad to know it was just a 'what if'....
Ah. Yeah I agree to a point. There's been a trend I've noticed about redemption of the toxic/red flag mls, it can be mishandled pretty badly sometimes. Though a few 'emotional growth-forward' ones do satisfy my 'i can fix them or join them' urges which I'm sure is the intended audience for those. Makes me wonder if it's inspired at all by the shounen trope of 'enemy today, ally tomorrow' power fantasy.

That's where i fail to understand like why is there a need to redeem themselves if they could've just love them from the start till the end if they truly did love them. I know there are factors and all sorts of things but they should've chose right if they'll just regret it at the end. Sheesh.
Anyways, there are still some readers who are like that maybe coz they probably read too much shoujos.
