Call that an overreaction if you want but super strong and genuinely powerful FLs are ALWAYS tied down with her LI being even more insanely powerful and talented and perfect. For no reason other than to let him see her as “cute”. He’s an asshole and I do not care how much the plot tried to reform him, I hate this guy.

I fucking hate the ML. The ONLY reason their dynamic works is because the author made FL as dense as a brick and wrote her to be someone who can’t contain negative emotions for more than a second. It makes her hard to connect with, and makes the ML a total asshole who happens to have some trauma as a write off for his actions.
This could have been very easily fixed by the FL getting fed up with his horrible treatment and deciding to NOT be in competition with him any longer. Hell, give her some horrific self esteem issues and a sub plot about not being good enough! Yeah that’s touched on lightly but not nearly enough to make it impactful.
What could have been emotionally impactful is a scene where she actually breaks down much earlier in the plot/is harmed in some kind of way, and the ML realizes that all this time he’s been bullying a girl who is just trying to prove to herself that she’s not worthless compared to him. Instead of “I gotta beat him!!”, a more compelling feeling would have been “Why can’t I do this even though I work so hard?”. Maybe a scene or two of her studying for days straight, pushing herself to the limit to better her magic, and then the ML bullying her while not realizing how hard she’s trying.
TLDR: The characters are poorly written and had a lot more potential of being interesting. I wish she had some kind of character arc besides just being competitive, and IMO the ML is completely irredeemable no matter what the plot pulls out of it’s ass to make him likeable.

She started off for a good majority of the story as someone with an actual brain. It’s BEYOND frustrating that such a good character has become placid and frankly idiotic. She refuses to clear up VERY simple things, leads people to misunderstandings, and continues to push things OVER and over again even when everyone is clearly worried about what she’s doing (WITHOUT acknowledging them?!?!)
At the start, she was my favourite kind of FL and it’s such a shame that this unique plot turned into the kind of FL I hate the most…
god y'all hate seeing any woman turn happier. i can't believe how many times I've had to tell people this on this site: a temporary lack of knowledge does NOT equal stupidity. i think you just associated her closed-off attitude from before with being a badass. it's not the character has changed, you are just looking for a generic plot where she's "badass" and has no real personality outside of that.
catherine is a young girl who's always been really out of pocket, especially when she gets sick of her family and essentially storms out. she's established as immature but capable- and also naive to little extent. suddenly, she gets thrust into being a demon-pactee. she's not an all-knowing genius, her plans for her life were to marry and have a kid before everything went down. she gets thrown into the world of demons and starts learning about them and herself! then she falls in love with uber-handsome and gentlemanly caesar (reminder shes like a pretty young-adult), and she and caesar both establish they care about each other and why after time-travel debacle. she then gets lied to by her momabout whether she had a choice to become demon or not, and her plans of living a regular life with caesar are like thrown off. caesar doesn't know still that she didn't mean to turn into a demon, so he's a bit angry even though he said it was her choice. she still loves him and knows he loves her, so she tries to make up.
that's not being pushy, that's just being persistent. you're acting like she's a gnat that caesar finds annoying. you are also forgetting they still have not communicated properly because she hasn't found a CHANCE TO. ngl, i know you probably struggle with it irl, so why's catherine getting bashed? also, it's so obvious the author is saving it as a plotpoint for later.
you clearly started reading and thought she was a baddie-dominant woman who would take complete control of her life. ngl, at first i hoped that was the case too! but we got something more complex! i think a lot of people on this site need to stop hating women in a ROMANCE webcomic for exhibiting any- god forbid- weakness or emotion. apparently, all women are in the categories of either girlboss or 'stupid' in your heads.
i'm not saying this take is hot ass, but you do need to start using your comprehensive skills and brain very differently! if not, go read the millions of other stories where the female lead regressed for revenge or smthn, idk.
