Not me sobbing and heart aching reading this. I thought it was gonna be one of those cute funny stories but it's actually super thoughtful and philosophical even. Love reading the author's thought process and even wondered what would happen if people's pets turned human.

Like your new king is a terrifying tyrant who rose into power because he can kill a person with a look and wasn't even hesitant to murder his own blood (no matter how cruel they were to him, human life ethics bluh). He brings in a 12 year old commoner ("noble on paper") into the palace to work. Normally that isnt too crazy, BUT she works directly under him and is even allowed to hhandles important documents and state affairs. You also hear rumors that he's "sweet on her". Even worse, you hear rumors that he has her wake him up everyday. soon through the grapevine, you hear he now moved her into the queen's living quarters.
Over the years, you hear rumors and allegations of grooming (and probable assault). That poor child!!! , you can't even protest because the king will not hesitate to kill you or your family for speaking slander against their arrangement. Oneday at a special event, you watch in horror when the young lady makes her debut into society but the king is now blatantly marking his territory with the matching outfits and taking her first dance. He isn't even subtle with his obsession of her by proposing Infront of the whole court, putting her on the spot. She couldn't even refuse because he out ranks her and girl looks completely blind sided.
. honestly terrifying.
wait it actually goes down that route??? like legit from the outside perspective it seems like the cold hearted king groomed the girl he hired to be a lady in waiting and as soon as she was basically of age he marks her as his???? it really went down that route and not her father and brother repenting how they initially treated he when she was younger and adopted a girl that “looks just like her” to try and atone for how their first daughter/sister was treated by them?????? i just finished chapter 7 and wanted to see peoples thoughts on this and if thats true im gonna have to drop this
