From my understanding the main characters have been in three different timelines together first one where everything went wrong which was the book and then the second one where they are best friends instead of lovers which is what the MC from the first time line wished for our current time line that we're reading about is the third time line where MC who still has memories from the second timeline thinks the first time line was a book and just now finding out that ml had memories from the very first time line use that to become friends with him in the second time like and now is trying not to repeat his mistakes from the first time line in the third time line also in l found out everything that caused him to treat and see from first time line so bad even though he found out that it wasn't really his fault through the book
