It’s such an interesting phenomenon of certain groups of people disappointed in feminine traits and it lowkey feels misogynistic since the devaluing of femininity is in its core misogyny. Consumers are also seeking out more masculine (maybe with a dash of flare/flamboyance) and dare I say more straight passing gay couples
I don't care for manly x twink because I'm an old school yaoi reader and that's the primary dynamic of bl/yaoi comics from the 60s up until the 2000s early 2010s -ish. With the exception of the extreme bishounen x bishounen era. Also, real gay asians have internalized mysogyny that makes guys ashamed for being largely built but wanting to take the rod. They force the manly x twink in their community (whooooole other rabbit hole). So I was devastated when my boy got twink zapped, but still having a great time. I've actually never seen twink hate, is it in this comment section too?
Yes it’s in this comment thread and others works that have a more feminine presenting character. I’m mainly commenting because I’ve noticed a thread in people complaining about how twinkfied or soft/feminine presenting a character is when the cover is right there. In a work with a ‘straight passing’ (don’t know how else to describe it at this moment) tend to have no complaints about the characters mannerism or appearance as an issue. And bara is in its own lane, no one bother them and they don’t bother anyone. Idk about real gay men but I assume this is a mostly western viewers here and although you see more feminine presenting gay male in media. In the gay community, there’s a lot of issue with gay men looking down on more feminine and ‘girly I guess’ presenting gay men.

It’s not really hate on “twinks”, it’s more of the annoying fact that >90% BL manga forcefully makes the uke (bottom) in some shape or form more “feminine” than the seme (top). The fact that I can’t see equally “manly” men or equally “feminine” men date each other is what really ticks me off.
Why the FUCK IS it that all the rebirth/transport/2nd life with the MC being a female there is a long ass romance plot THAT SHIT PISSES ME OFF TO NO END. Like all these male MC are just vibing with their adventures and such but then you got a good portion of romance plot for the female MCs like Im ok with some romance but they are everywhere. I do like the one with the gangster man who turned into a princess (though it’s a little different) anyways any recommendations? Also I’m not too fond of OP characters cuz it’s overplayed and kinda boring now..but I’m fine if the plot is good

The hater in me is hating on this story and everyone’s response to it. I don’t even know what this story has that bother me so differently then other revenge BL with a ML that’s ends up groveling. I feel like there’s such bigger fish to catch, the criminal brother??? Like that trauma compared to falling in love with a shitty guy you met a couple of months ago but somehow he becomes apart of your nightmare has got to be a projection. It literally feels like the MC’s lowkey just a b* who only stands up towards someone that’ll that them not his actual brother. It’s just people focusing on the groveling (yes the ml is an idiot who didn’t fact check shit) and not all weird shit going on that’s rubbing me off wrong. Like where is the discourse about the murderious brother? The discourse about codependency/attachment issue? The unhealthy relationship the MC has with the ML, before and now? The lack of communication between the families (like the Mc and the grandpa?) why? The relationship between the brothers? The twistedness of it all??

That’s as simple as that, it’s a lot easier to stand up to someone that hadn’t abuse you your whole life. But also the same guy that you’re able to talk back to is now apart of your nightmare.
