I feel like the translator really is on a mission to make us hate jk as much as possible, everything he says in the official eng translation is the worse rudest interpretation of what he said
is the korean version not as rude?
Can you give us some examples? I don't know korean, so can read the raws
In the raws, JK is just being grumpy and complains but doesn’t sound like a d!ck like the English translation. For example, in the Eng transaltion, the part where he says “But I feel like I won’t be satisfied unless he is in my line of sight, even in his sorry state”, in the Korean (original), it’s something along the lines of “
“Is it only by keeping him in my sight that I can feel better.” Mind you, I used google translate but clearly, it doesn’t come out “rude” like the Eng translation. Sure, JK is a d!ck, but the translation is giving him a worst image then the originals.
Oooh yeah, you are right, this make him way better, don't sound rude and possessive. I guess the translator really hates him to the bone. Unless that the usa of words was a informal rude that the google don't get. But this was way nice to say what he said
In the Korean version it’s more like “I still can’t tell which one of us is taking care of who. I can’t go back to how it was before. No, now, I can keep him in my line of sight.” It’s more like Dan is his safety blanket not his possession and it’s ridiculous to JK that he still feels like he’s the patient who needs Dan even though Dan is the sick one
Yes I hate the asshole tone and weird possessiveness and slang in the USA version of JK it’s because they’re trying to make him sound like the character of a city gangster but it gives off old man slang with fuck boy vibes
I know this is the only way we get a realistic redemption arc but it is so unsatisfying and disappointing fml
I am laughing because I just figured out “krik” means he’s gritting his teeth/setting his jaw, I always read it “kirk” like he was chirping or sniffling
can’t wait for the next thing to be translated bc I was so confused in the raws
