I read in the spoilers a while ago (so I don’t remember exact details)… this is a plot set by Mildred’s or Fred’s brother in order to get control of the house/family fortune. Not sure how Mildred figures it out. All I know is that bro has Fred’s body and the guy at the door is a scammer.
