Okay so I've read the raws of v1 and 2 and this manga is definitely mystery and drama but with a few romantic undertones for interpretation (considering it's the same Mangaka of Cherry Magic) but that's not the main focus here.
Subaru and Yanagira’s relationship is intensely emotional and full of tension. There are elements of admiration, obsession, manipulation, and maybe even love that is twisted by ambition and control.
The way they interact? Romantic... but complicated, toxic, and heavily gray.
So yep! This isn't slice-of-life or action-heavy shōnen. Naraku no Hoshi is a story rooted in historical drama and introspective relationships with a brooding twist. Perfect for readers who love deep character dives and a moody, atmospheric vibe (like me)
