Woah, i expected so low from this comic and the author somehow managed to surprise me, that was so shit omg
Did the author prompt chat GBT for a plot??
"Hey, give me an abusive dad dialogue." Ahh
Cuz aint no way this is what they came up with?? This was so lazily written what's with this odd dialogue
Is this comic only redeeming quality being beautifully drawn?
Is this the huge backstory we all waited for that was supposed to change my mind about an abuser and feel empathy for him?
The casual bottom goes through the "abusive drug-addict dad" shenanigans everyday in bl and you don't see em being assholes/abusers (top 10 sentences that would break a victorian's child's mind)
This was ssooooo underwhelming
Jokes aside; i liked the idea of jaekyung having unresolved daddy/mommy issues, my problem is that it was so badly executed.
It was rushed -taking TWO chapters to explore the dynamic between jaekyung and his parents was low af, and only 3 measley panels to know about his mother is ungodly
The dialogue felt extremely unnatural,
The dad and mom having no faces made them seem so unimportant. Like the dad is a huge part of jaekyung's upbringing and you dont even give him a face?? i found that very weird.
Also, Jaekyung having found family should have made him better, yk? It's so strange how cruel he is now
I'd imagine some of the stuff that happened to him on the streets (tho we didn't get any info on that as well) would stick with him, but the guy has been out of the gutter for a while now, id imagine he'd have SOME kind of self reflection in his adult life, but apparently not??
In conclusion, I'm very disappointed and underwhelmed
