Yes, they're clearly actors, it's obvious they're practicing. The problem is the plot itself, out of all the directions the creator can go for, what they can act and practice, it chooses THAT? that's the problem.
A certain type of age gap plot I can read, but this is just xhajjd the childhood scene was just??? There's just something oddly specific about this that puts me off.
