I'm really questioning whether or not we're supposed to read Jian Yi and Xi's relationship in a romantic way anymore

We know Jian Yi had a one-way crush on Xi when they were teenagers, but Xi seemingly didn't reciprocate. To me, it seems like Xi's feelings are slowly becoming more romantic in some chapters. But the (possible) slowburn is so slow that I really can't tell most of the time

I don't follow the author on any SoMe, so maybe they've actually addressed this and I just don't know lmao ╮(￣▽￣)╭
