I don’t know how it is with Kpop tho.The no dating rule seems to be super strict for japanese idols but idk if in Korea it’s just a “keep it tame” rule. I’d assume the root cause of the issue is the same: people don’t see celebrities as their own people separate from their public personas, develop parasocial relationships that turn into obsession and start hating them because a celebrity having a lover would ruin the self-insert fic they create in their head instead of getting a life or smth.
