I fear I may be too empathetic for this because I DO In fact feel bad for jaekyung. Yeah he's a POS in the present but that's not the Jaekyung I sympathize with, its the little kid that only had boxing and winning to drive his life, and his purpose, and the teenager trying to beat generational curses while dealing with grief, abuse, and abandonment. Its okay to feel empathy for someone's past, without excusing their future. Im not exactly a "fan" of this manwha but I did want to stick it out because this author writes characters in a way that is very realistic. I don't excuse his actions as a rapist, abuser, and just all around asshole, but I can take into account the perspective his back story gives me, and mourn the person he could have become.

I hate them all OMFG. Bottom is needy, oblivious, naive and BRATTY. Minwoo is okay but I have a feeling he's gonna become bad to gaslight the reader into thinking the top is good, sucks cs he's so cute and I like him though. But the FUCKING TOP omg. First he RAPES the fucking mc FIRST chapter, literally while he's drunk and confused and so sick he PUKED, then he just acts like and overall asshole slut, sleeping around and even going against his partners wishes AGAIN(trying to force his sub/dom kink on them). But not only that, he now is trying to force it onto the mc (who is dumb enough and inexperienced enough to just go with it) and even chokes him out of anger during sex, takes advantage of mc while he's in heat, and CUMS INSIDE OF HIM. KNOWING THE RISKS, AND DOESNT EVEN FUCKING TELL HIM?? ARE YOU FUCKIN SERIOUS? LIKE- ARE. WE. DEAD. ASS.
Bc what the FUCK do you mean "its an aspririn" no you little bitch the line was "I'm an asshole and I couldn't control my stupid fucking dick and took the condom off with no regards for the consequences because Im a selfish price who only puts my pleasure first, and I bought this because I realized my actions and want to be responsible for them" but instead he takes no accountability, and doesn't even give any fucking aftercare, or ask mc why he was in heat so randomly or ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE HIM A DECENT FUCKING PARTNER.

Hey, fun fact, Listening to Moon river and Swim good by frank ocean during the flashback chapters(during his attempt)and before that are NOT in fact good for your mental health.
Also this manwha is THE standard, I dont care, this was so full of love and warmth and yearning that I couldn't even read the smut because it felt like I was intruding. Honestly of I could give this 20 stars I would. Literally currently making a Playlist on Spotify dedicated to these 2 that's how bad ts is, If someone ever loves me like this I think I would physically combust like every atom of my body would dissipate as my soul ascended to the heavens. And dont even get me started on the art, it felt like I was sipping on a warm coffee in a dark apartment on a rainy night, like an impending doom my soul was welcoming with every chapter. And the flashbacks felt like sleeping on a swing on a warm summer day letting the sun soak into every inch of my body and being so giddy with love I just want to laugh. The only thing I can think of that would be considered a critique is maybe lack of depth when it came to some of the other characters and how they contributed to the story, but the love story made up for that completely to me. I maybe want to see a few more chapters that just hone in on the afterglow of their life together from now on(and also him telling the girl who he is and reconnecting with her bc I lobe her<3) otherwise this is a masterpiece, they are the best, I WILL be back with my Playlist on hand, and im gonna go cry now

Did I understand only 20% of this manwha jn regards to business, and political actions? yes. But was this still one of the best tension filled, dark, toxic relationship manwhas I've ever read? Absolutely. And I would even go as far as to say to take the whole "toxic" part with a grain of salt, they were more dysfunctional than most, but still seemed to really care for each other and just went about expressing their emotions incorrectly. I do wish they had more scenes together or that there was side stories that showed them being softer, like how they were near the end, but overall this is a very well developed story and incredibly engrossing, even if it seemed to drag for some parts (Which is admittedly my own fault, as I lacked the comprehension for certain things and tended to skip forward ). Plus what it lacked in 'traditional' relationship values, it made up for in tension. I mean when I say I want enemies to lovers, I mean I want them to hold the amount of tension these two had,when they finally get together. Even though technically speaking this isn't an enemies to lovers story, it fulfilled that kind of satisfaction that enjoyers of that genre usually experience.
All in all very solid story, one that I wish I had the mindset to fully comprehend and appreciate the intelligence of, but solid nonetheless. The couple is rough around ths edges, but progressed beautifully, and I wouldn't be upset if the author made more chapters to appreciate their relationship. Anyways I need to stop ranting about this or I fear I may start making even less sense
